What is the recruitment process likely to be?
We recruit for a variety of positions and like to retain flexibility in our processes, to ensure that we can react to situations, requirements and market activity. However, all applications that meet the initial basic requirements will be reviewed by a hiring manager and if this review is positive, you will be invited to a first stage interview, which is conducted face to face, via video conference or telephone. Second stage interviews are conducted in a similar way and travel may be required. You may also be asked to complete some recruitment assessments, which are issued to all candidates who interview with Ogier. For more senior positions, a third stage interview may also be requested. If you are unsuccessful in your application but we feel you may be suitable for future roles, you may be asked to join our talent pipeline, where your application will be reviewed against any future requirements, in line with your area of specialism.
Do you accept agency applications?
Yes, we do accept agency applications via the agency portal section of the site. If you are not currently set up as a recruiter with Ogier, please contact the recruitment team, or our Head of Resourcing & Onboarding – Harriett Barnes – at harriett.barnes@ogier.com.
When will I hear back from you?
Once your application is submitted, you will receive an email confirming receipt. We aim for direct applications to be reviewed and responded to within 2 weeks of your application date.
What will interviews entail?
We recruit for a variety of positions, in a number of markets and at all levels; therefore, the interview process does vary. Generally, first stage interviews will consist of a relatively informal conversation where we will review your application, provide further information on the role and investigate your career aspirations. If your application is progressed, further interviews will give you the opportunity to meet with additional members of the team and we will use these conversations to focus on technical questions to understand suitability further. For some positions, you may also be asked to complete a role specific written assessment.
What training do you provide?
New employees will take part in our comprehensive induction programme to set you on your way at the start of your career with Ogier. This is then supported with 1-2-1 training within your team, along with a wide range of face to face and digital learning opportunities going forward to help you build a successful career with us. We also actively encourage and support the study of relevant professional qualifications.
What happens after I receive a job offer?
Your contract and other documentation will be sent to you electronically and once signed and returned, a member of the HR team will contact you to begin your onboarding process, ahead of your agreed start date. If any travel arrangements or relocation support is required, this will be also be discussed at this stage. You will also be issued an interactive email, confirming further details in relation to your first day.
Can I reapply?
Yes, if you meet the stipulated requirements for the role then you can reapply for any future vacancies that may be of interest. If you are invited to join our Talent Pipeline or have registered your interest in future vacancies, then we will consider your application for any additional suitable roles and will contact you directly.
