Learn more about the support and training opportunities on offer from our Ireland office.
Our Ireland office runs one of the best trainee solicitor programmes in the country. We hire candidates who can demonstrate intelligence, commercial awareness and personality. We value EQ as highly as IQ.

Operating to the standards set by the Law Society, the training contract provides our trainees with the opportunity to develop their understanding of legal practice, together with an insight into their futures as solicitors.

Training contracts in the Dublin office are based on rotations in different departments, which are known as “seats”. Each seat will be for a period of three, six or nine months where you will learn about several practice areas within Ogier.

Ogier specialises in the following work areas:

                  Banking & Finance
                  Corporate
                  Dispute Resolution
                  Employment
                  Funds
                  Real Estate
                  Restructuring and Insolvency

With regular updates and a formal review at the end of every seat you'll have an opportunity to reflect upon your personal development and progress.  We have a fully interactive learning management platform, allowing you control to track your performance as you go.

Our trainee programme has been designed to supplement the PPC course and we are committed to supporting and developing our trainees to be extraordinary future solicitors and will support trainees through external and supplementary courses where needed.

We are looking for the very best trainees to join us: the next generation of our firm must be collaborative and tech-savvy with strong academic achievement, and ready to drive our business forward.

Applications are invited from students currently undertaking or have recently completed their FE1 exams.

The academic requirements for acceptance onto our Irish Trainee Solicitor programme are:
FE1s to be completed by March 2026
2:1 Degree (non-law degree background welcome)

If your initial application stands out, you will be progressed to the interview stage.  The interview process is made up of two parts: the first round via remote conference, and the second round in person with our carefully selected trainee interview panel.  Simple, transparent, to the point.

“I love that I am exposed to complex cross jurisdictional transactions and client-facing work despite only being a trainee. Additionally, I appreciate being able to work closely with, and be supported by, our wider global network as well as my brilliant Dublin colleagues.”
